Dr. Cocchiola presents internationally on the dynamics of coercive control, educating professionals, advocates, and protective parents about the lived experiences of children and the most effective intervention strategies for both adult and child victims suffering abuse.

A social justice advocate since the age of 19, she is the developer of The Protective Parenting Program, an evidence-based, attachment-focused therapeutic model designed for parents whose children have been harmed by abusive partners.

A survivor and protective parent herself, Dr. Cocchiola is also the co-author of FRAMED: Women in the Family Court Underworld. Her TEDx talk, “It is ALL Coercive Control,” is available on YouTube.
